    Aruba CX template

I've taken the HP Enterprise Switch SNMP template and corrected a couple items to work properly with Aruba CX switches.

Testing has been done ONLY on the 6100 series and obviously by my post count, I'm new at this.

This template corrects the temperature, CPU utilization (sort of), firmware version and serial number values.

Template gathers the CPU utilization for only core 0. I don't know how to gather multiple OIDs and average them.

Aruba CX series monitoring template for Zabbix. Contribute to JeffJakubowski/Zabbix-Aruba-CX development by creating an account on GitHub.

    Hi Jeff,

    thank you!
I updated your template to use ARUBAWIRED-CHASSIS-MIB for temperature discovery (based on the Aruba documentation). I am going to replace the FAN and PSU Discovery based on the recommended Aruba mibs (ARUBAWIRED-FAN-MIB, ARUBAWIRED-POWERSUPPLY-MIB), too. After that I will take a look at the CPU Stuff and create a Pull request, is that fine for you or do you want me to create a new git repo.

Template here modified and tested on 6100:
    • remove static CPU entry and added CPU Autodiscover.
    • auto discover for Power Supply
    • auto discover for Fan
    • auto discover for Temperature sensors

      Hi Michael,

Thank you for taking the time to update the template. I have set up vlans on my Aruba CX6000 switches. Is there a way to monitor/extract Tx/Rx specific to each vlan? If there is, how do I update/modify the template to do that. At the moment, the template only captures vlan1() interface data but it shows zero Tx/Rx on the interface. It is obviously wrong. I have never worked out how to add/modify an existing template with data generated from snmpwalk. I am willing to contribute to the template but I don't know how to do that.

      Thanks in advance
      Fred

    Hi Michael

Where did you upload the template you created? I can't seem to locate it.

Ahh, never mind - it was a page reload issue. Found it :-) Thanks

    Thanks

          Hi Michael,

Thought I had edited my original post, but see now it did not update.
I can see the template to your first post, but for some reason I did not see it until I had posted here.

Tested it over the last days for different types of 6000 and 6100 switches, and looks good. Thanks for your work on this

This is the template in xml format. Since the old share.zabbix.com is gone it is no fun to create/post community templates and share them on the platform. I already wrote a forum thread about that but no reply :-(

You can do whatever you'd like, I barely know how to use either Zabbix or Git. Frankly I forgot all about this.
I see your new template is only for version 6.2
I hacked out template_groups and set the version to 6.0
Seems to work for me on my 6.04 system

Hi andreaf, Im a noob at this so I probably won't be of much help, hopefully me writing this will put more eyes on this thread, i haven't used proxies yet, but can you post a printscreen of what is going wrong?

Also what switch is it? (just to know if the template should be compatible)

Hi Anon_Zabbix_User, the swithc is an CX 6100 and I'm trying with defualt Template Net HP Enterprise Switch SNMPv2 because my zabbix is 4.4. and this template isn't compatible but I think that the switch should send dataanyway. I think that the problem is on the swith settings but cannot which configuration i miss. Could I ask you witch parameter do you setted on the switch?
