devices which have no clients installed (eg Printers) , how they are monitored

like to request for the docs url in which I can read about how to monitor printers ( no snmp or no agent on the printer)

If you dont have even snmp, then basically it is a black box... you can probably ping it, but it is as useful as pinging a kettle of water... you may know, that there is electricity, but is the water cold or hot...no idea..

Your printer is probably running SNMP unless you have done something to disable it.
