    SNMp error, some snmp items not updating

    A number of my hosts using snmp to fetch information (HP/UX 11 servers) are having some troubles. It seems some of the SNMP values are returning and some arent... from the logs it looks like this is the problem. However i dont use a mib for lookups i use the specific OID (number) so the mib should not be required....

    Could it be that too many snmp requests are going out at the same time... this worked before on 1.5,1.6,1.7. But suddenly broke on 1.7.... so i upgraded to 1.8 and still having the same issue.

    If i run snmpget from commandline on the zabbix server it brings back the values no problem, so its not a connectivity issue.

    Help!

    It appears i have fixed the issue.

    #1 bad ram, im sure i checked it when i built the box... but its bad (use memtest86)
    #2 rampant db corruption, likely caused by #1

    BTW, for anyone that gets corruption... if you can risk the data loss. Its best to just drop the table and rebuild it from the schema in the create folder. Just find the one or two tables you need. Copy those sections to another file then

    cat filename.sql |mysql -uUSERNAME -pPASSWORD dbname

    BTW the tables corrupted (for me) where history and alarms.

    And i still get the 'there is no such variable in mib' error in my /tmp/zabbix_server.log
    But it dosent seem to affect the gathering of my data.

      Well not fixed... seems the objects updated once then wouldnt do it again.... anyone else having this problem?

      *update*

      delete item, recreate. item works.. hope this helps someone. The data in the table looks the same... too weird.

        I'm having problems with the exact same thing. I'm running Zabbix 1.8.2 and using the stock OpenManage template which is working perfectly fine EXCEPT for the one custom item I made which monitors the RAID health. The OID I'm using is listed at https://support.ipmonitor.com/mibs/A...arrayDiskState. When I first add this item it works fine for a couple of queries, then I receive the error in the zabbix_server log that says

        1579:20100506:140429.272 In get_value() key:'arrayDiskState'
        1579:20100506:140429.272 In get_value_snmp() key:'arrayDiskState' oid:'.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10893.1.1.130.4.1.4'
        1579:20100506:140429.279 Item [TEST:arrayDiskState] error: SNMP error [(noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB.]
        1579:20100506:140429.279 Parameter [TEST:arrayDiskState] is not supported by agent Old status [0]

        Anyone have any idea why this works one or two times then bombs out?

          maybe device has some problems with the rate of snmp requests you are generating ?
          maybe retrieving this value takes so long that it just times out ?
