Best NMS and Monitoring solution for large scale systems

What would be the best NMS and Monitoring solution for a system of this scale ?
Around 1K Devices ? - combination of standard Network devices + custom-built hardware pieces
Upto 10GB of data to be processed a Day ?
Around 25K Data points ?

One would also be looking at systems for correlation events from a Biz ( top-down) perspective.

Any comparisons with Zabbix would help.

Pointers to studies /comparisons / case-studies / experience reports would also help.
