Look at the Linux server template and what it does to monitor services. Clone them and adjust the name of the process it looks at. Also, Zimbra has its own SNMP service.

Zimbra have deleted that page unfortunately

What are you trying to monitor that isn't visible via Zimbra's SNMP service or the Zabbix agent?

          hello troffasky,

I'm trying to monitor values like : number of spam/viruses - mail transit (In/Out), Connected client etc etc..

I'dont think that I can get this with the Zabbix Agent ?

There are this values in the zimbra interface, but I would like to get this in Zabbix ( all-in-one interfaces... . Is it possible ?

          Thx

Zimbra uses ClamAV and Spamassassin under the hood in the /opt/zimbra directory. There are likely some hooks in those tools which may allow you to gather the stats you are looking for. Be careful if you change any of the configuration files in the /opt/zimbra directory as they may be overwritten at any time by the Zimbra app along with the potential for very unintended side effects.

But he probably doesn't need to do any of that because Zimbra has an SNMP interface.

True, *if* the SNMP interface provides that data, if not, then you have to dig in yourself.

                  Hello everybody !

first of all thanks for your replies !
*if* the SNMP interface provides that data
in fact... the SNMP Interface provide data... but not the data I'm looking for...

but, I've read that ZmStats ( monitoring tools of zimbra ) generate csv file with all the data I'm looking for! so , I think I'll parse these csv file with script and UserParameter to catch data that i want.

I'll write my feedback when I'll have finish this .

                  thanks you again !

                  best regard

My company is working on an improved and more reliable solution for monitoring Zimbra with Zabbix using a custom template/script combination. (currently for Zabbix 1.8)

When we iron out a couple of bugs and have it working to the point that we are happy and don't receive false positives anymore, we'll be posting a tutorial and all files needed to make it all work.

                      Stay tuned, it's currently a work-in-progress.

Do you have any news about the template/script?

Unfortunately this project got stuck in the mud and forgotten for a while. We recently have gotten back into getting Zabbix set up across the board. So I'm sure I'll be resurrecting this project in the near future.

I'll be sure to post my progress.
