How to organize a multiple box cluster

I have 2 boxes. They are setup to share a bunch of HA services.

The DNS is setup as such:
    box-1.example.com
    box-2.example.com
    box-ha.example.com

The HA services only listen on the -ha address which is an IP that is failed back and forth between the boxes when necessarry

I want to be able to monitor both boxes in the cluster for their OS level stuff. I want to have it so that that the HA services are monitored independently of the two boxes. Prefferably under a separate host names box-ha.example.com

How would I do this in zabbix?

Bump! Still interested in figuring out best practice for this type of setup.

      Well, create 3 hosts?

No, seriously: Create two hosts for the OS-stuff and link them to appropriate templates and create one host for the HA-stuff... .

      cheers

Also, linux HA has some scripts that report the status of the cluster. You can pipe those into zabbix as well to know if you're live but in failover mode, etc.
