Combining "normal" and active agents in one item or trigger?

    Hi all,

I'm managing multiple mailservers using Zabbix, of which one is not reachable via a normal network connection. The only way to monitor this server is by setting up an STunnel connection and using active checks. Since all items are configured in a template, I can't apply the template to the special STunnel service because it needs to use active checks.

Is it somehow possible to configure the "active agent" flag per instance of a template, in stead of configuring it inside the template itself? That way, I would be able to use the same template for all mailservers and configure a few items for using the "active agent" at the instance of the template.

    Any suggestions on this?

It's been a while since you posted...

I had a similar issue. I think the work around is to go to the item configuration for that particular host, clone the template-item instance, change the agent as needed, and disable the template item.

Another possible way, if you want to modify most of the items
      in a template:

Just go to the host, remove the template connection by clicking on
Unlink and all the template items are still connected to the host but the link to the template is removed.
