    some things I have learned.

first off, I have recovery messages enabled. I also have maintenance messages with recovery messages.

If a trigger goes into alert status before the maintenance period starts, it will not go in to the maintenance loop with the rest of the triggers. which means when it clears it will send the regular clear message.

If a trigger goes into alert status during the maintenance window, the trigger is in the maintenance loop, when the maintenance period ends it will not trigger a regular alert until it has cleared and ended the maintenance loop. it will also clear with the "cleared in maintenance" message.

You can not retroactively add a maintenance period to resolve an already running alert.

    Hope these tidbits help someone.

      Hi,

Is it possible to send a message when you disable a host to inform other users?
      978 Hosts / 16.901 Items / 8.703 Triggers / 44 usr / 90,59 nvps / v1.8.15

        Maintenance status in Dashboard

Sorry about hijacking this thread, but was it a design decision not to show the maintenance status in the dashboard? I think it should be shown there as well instead of only in the triggers.

Am I the only one missing this?

I agree, should be a blue or purple square / column to signify a system in maintenance mode.

            Patch

Here's a patch (not thoroughly tested), in case anyone is interested in adding maintenance status to the dashboard:

I added the patch to an existing issue.

Is there a way to eliminate a message that a trigger may have changed during a maintenance period?

I am trying to use this for WAN monitoring and I don't care if a circuit bounces in the middle of the night if it isn't a 24/7 facility.

Does anyone have any a suggestion for this?

have you set "not in maintenance" condition for your action ?

Yes, my action does contain this setting. I have not been able to test any more since I posted last. I will hopefully have some time soon to resume my testing on this.

                      Thank you for your response.
