      Hi,

Since the beginning of this thread you are referring only to trigger definition but you have to set your item correctly first.

      In Item definition
      • type : Simple check
      • Key : icmppingloss[,10]
      • Update interval (in sec) : 60

This will define an item thats send 10 packets every 60 seconds.
Go to Monitoring section, look at Latest Data and make sure that your item is correctly collecting data.
Once this step is OK, you can move to trigger definition.

      In Trigger definition
      {host:icmppingloss[,10].last(0)}>33

This will just raise an event when packet loss is higher than 33%.
From your previous posts, I assume you have already setup email in Actions definition.

          Hi mariomc,

Looking at your screenshot, I can't guess what is going wrong (IF something is going wrong, maybe you are really losing packets).

You always report the end result but never give any information on intermediary steps that would help understand what could be wrong.

Sorry to repeat myself but "Go to Monitoring section, look at Latest Data and make sure that your item is correctly collecting data" and report what you are seeing if you want some help.

          Regards,

              Hi,

I don't see any error, you have 100% packet loss.

If you think that it is wrong:
              • Is it the only host with icmppingloss check ?
              • If no, is it working on other hosts ?
              • If yes, can you try on another host ?
              • Is there any firewall between Zabbix server and your host ?
              • Can you ping this host from Zabbix server (with ping and fping command) ?

              Regards,

                2)
the check should be every 60 sec and here there is the problem

If icmppingloss always return a value higher than 33%, you'll receive only one mail when the trigger turns to PROBLEM state. As long as it stays in this state, you will not receive another mail.

If you want an email every 60s, you need to configure your trigger with:
Event generation : Normal + Multiple PROBLEM events
                  (see doc . http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...ation#triggers)

                    the scope is this:
check every 60 seconds sending 10 packets to the server
if the server is down, send email otherwise no

i agree with you if it sends email to me one time when it's down
but when it return active and then passive, the check doesnt send me email

                    why?

How have you set your actions (http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...config/actions) ?

Are you sure that icmppingloss has been below 33% and above again after you received your first email ?

                        TEST:
with item icmppingloss[] (without parameters) i receive the email when the server is out of network when i reboot zabbix server.
if i attacched server to network for some minutes then i disconnect the cable , i dont receive any email

why? maybe the check is done only one time when i reboot zabbix server?

then we are sure that the items should be written in this way: icmppingloss[,10] ?
i have tryed also with icmppingloss[,10,1,,,] and icmppingloss[<ip>,<10>,<interval>,<size>,<timeout>] but dont run and dont collect the data.

                          Hi Alixen

now i have changed the format ( icmppingloss[172.16.100.13,10,25,56,500] )and it runs once time (when i reboot zabbix server)

how can i do the periodic check every 1 minute ?

                          thanks
