    I am not getting this:

    25561:20101026:154427.448 /usr/sbin/fping -q -C3 2>&1 </var/opt/zabbix/tmp/zabbix_server_25561.pinger
    25561:20101026:154437.698 /usr/sbin/fping -q -C3 2>&1 </var/opt/zabbix/tmp/zabbix_server_25561.pinger
    Only after running a ping from the dashboard I get logs:

    1276:20101027:083533.831 NODE 0: Executing command: '/usr/bin/fping -c 3 <IP of target host>'
    1277:20101027:083540.471 NODE 0: Executing command: '/usr/bin/fping -c 3 <IP of target host>'
    1276:20101027:083602.560 NODE 0: Executing command: '/usr/bin/fping -c 3 <IP of target host>'

    What's the deal with pinger? I don't have any files/extensions named like that. Do you think that might be the problem?

      I am not entirely sure about the pinger, however it is a list of all of ip addresses of hosts which nett do be pinged to get the 'status' key information.

      Try to have a look into the Administration - General section, otherwise I am runnig out of ideas at the moment.

        Thanks for a swift answer.

        Which subsection under 'Administration' tab do you have in mind?

          Administration -> Audit
          Administration -> General

            Check

            Go to Configuration -> Host and clic over the Item, Check the message in the Status column. Also pass the cursor over the Error column to try to guess the mistake

                  oh it looks like the number must be "Numeric (float)" otherwise you only get zeros in you real time data.

                    since the number returned is something like .00054 you should enable the multiply by custom number and set it to 1000 to get thing in milliseconds format.
