Web Scenario: Getting a cookie into a variable

    Hi!

I'm new to zabbix, and i'm trying to move my company monitorization from ME to zabbix.

We have a web authentication system a little messy, and not easy to change (politics). Every authentication web scenario needs to get a sessionid cookie and use it on the next url. So... i've been testing and i don't get it:

Is it possible to get the JSESSIONID cookie in a step into a variable {sid} and then use this variable into the next step like 'http://url-next-step?session={sid}???

In case it is possible, i'd be so happy to leave Manage Engine behind...

    Thanks in advance

Web Scenario: Getting a cookie into a variable

    Hi!

Just for simplifying the question... i need to assign a value to {sessionid} macro in step n, and then use it into the post of step n+1...

so... it would be {sessionid}=xxx, but how do i refer to a cookie? and if this is solvable... where should i assign the value? in the post box of step n? or in the url? :S:S

    hope it simplifies

    thanks!

Web Scenario: Getting a cookie into a variable

            Just a last question...

i cannot assign a cookie value into a {macro}, ok, but can i assign a static value into a {macro} within a step? I mean, just like on the Web Scenario form, but on a step.

Thanks and promise, it's my last question :S

hmm, no. also, i don't see what would be the point - if it's static, it's static. if you want a different value in a different step, you can just use a different variable

Web Scenario: Getting a cookie into a variable

It was just in case... on the other product we used, they told us we could not get cookies, and we could do it via a var=$sessionid on that step...

the only intention for the last question was, in the remote case that it would be possible, if it was possible also to assign that value on that moment... but nevermind, i believe my battle is lost already :S...

i'll keep track of this feature, zabbix seems so mature...

                keep the good work!

heh, well, if it's really important, maybe it's worth contacting the company and seeing whether the feature can be implemented for you.

                        hello, richlv,

as no one answered my question on "ZABBIX Suggestions and Feedback", i'm coming back to you to ask for any other way of contact... our company is moving it's monitoring system and now we're on a hurry for knowing if zabbix "can be".

                        Thanks

                        luizz.

                            Webinject

                            Hi!

I've found webinject, which does what we need, with its "parseresponse" option, and giving the times for each url visited. Every scenario is a xml file and therefor it's perfect for importing/exporting .

We tested it on Nagios and it works perfectly. The only problem is we want Zabbix. Is there any way of integration of this script into zabbix?

                            Thanks in advance,

                            Luis.

is it returning something on a commandline ?
if so, you should be able to use it as a userparameter
