Problems creating items & triggers

Hi, good morning from Spain.

I'm having some problems while configuring new items to monitor some services and processes of the servers of my network. For example, one of the items I decided to create was one to monitor SQLServer 2000, and this is how i did it.

Equipo/Plantilla
Nombre descriptivo SQL: Service State - SQL Server
Tipo Agente Zabbix
Monitor service_state[MSSQLSERVER]
Tipo de información Numérico (Entero de 64bits)
Data type Decimal
Unidad
Utilizar multiplicador No utilizar
Intervalo de actualización (en segundos) 60
Intervalos flexibles (sec) No flexible intervals
Nuevo intervalo flexible Demora 50 Período 1-7,00:00-23:59
Conservar el histórico durante (en días) 7

(Sorry for copying it in spanish but that's the version i have installed)

My problem is that when I go to Monitorización--> Vistazo general (I suppose it should be something like Monitoring--->General lookup in english version) I find that for the machines for which I have linked the template with this monitor that I created before, it doesn't gives me any information about it.

You're lucky Portuguese understand Spanish

Unfortunately you're not giving us enough info,
did you look into zabbix_agentd.log or zabbix_server.log ?
Something must explain why the items are not being accepted.

That's Monitoring | Overview in english.

Considering english is obviously not a problem for you,
I'd suggest you swith your frontend to it.
You'll maximize the range of users understanding your problems.

Thanks, I'll look into this files you say. Where can I find them. Another question: Where can I switch the language of my frontend to English?

I don't know by heart it's default location,
I've installed in a custom path.

You can find it by,
sudo updatedb
locate zabbix_server.log

You can change the language clicking in Profile in the upper right corner of the front end

Hi good morning!

I have found the zabbix_server.log files and I have noticed that not only the items and triggers that I had created hasn't been working. Neither the standart templates included in Zabbix v.1.8.1 (the one I'm running) aren't working. The log says in each line of each item something like: Not supported by zabbix agent.

More details: I'm runing Ubuntu 10.04 OS and Zabbix 1.8.1 as I have written before. I don't know what's the problem.
