Hi All,
I'm running Zabbix on a Centos-server that runs postgres 8.4.4. My database is about 6 months old, and it is around 11Gb large.
About a month ago I notice that the postgres-process was starting to use lot's of cpu, and i read in the forums that this was due to zabbix housekeeping. In some posts it was adviced to switch off the housekeeping, and instead start to use postgres own autovacuum.
Unfortunately i'm not so familiar with huge databases (for me 11Gb is pretty huge :-), and tuning their performance and hoisekeeping-settings, so i would like to aske my fellow zabbix-admins on how they have managed to tune their databases for keeping the performance.
If you know any nice howto or wiki, then i would appreciate any tips and links to these. :-)
