Sheeva Plug as a Zabbix Proxy

    Hi,

I'm looking into using the Sheeva Plug (found here) for running as a Zabbix Proxy. There won't be many items i'm fairly certain it will handle it.

My question is which os? I'd like to use the onboard NAND (512MB) to boot from, what's the best os (footprint wise) and does anyone know the size of the zabbix proxy binaries?

    Thanks,
    Nathan

    whichever os you know best

binary size might vary from platform, features compiled in and other factors, but the one i have here is ~ 1mb.

also keep in mind that you will need local db (probably best to use sqlite in this case), which will also take up some additional space

      Hi thanks for your reply.

I've decided to wait till the raspberry pi's are available. There currently testing and if all goes well they'll start producing them in the new year.

They're now currently available and I'm going to be looking at them as well...

I'm hoping the general purpose IO on them will be useful for sensors
