    Interfaces labels in screens

    Hello.

I have already monitored many interfaces from Linux systems and I pub some ot them in screens to watch the bandwitdh. But, in generated screens there are names of the interfaces, for example eth0, eth1, vlan100, vlan101, vlan102...

Is it possible to put into the screen'a more human readable names of the interfaces? For example "comapny XYZ", "MAIN LINK", "BACKUP LINK" and others?

    Thanks for the advice.

    Regards

    Hi
    Not possible

You have to change the Item Name. But if you generate it by Discovery than, the only way is to set ifAlias (on devices), and use it in Discovery as items name.

    Bests,
    Grzegorz

      Hi Grzegorz.

Could you explain more precisely how to do it? I read more in the internet but I don't exactly know what you mean.

How can I change ifAlias on devices in linux? And how can I use it in discovery process as items name?

You mean the ifAlias change in snmpd? But I have the snmpd not installed? Could you tell me more about it?
