Graph Gaps When Proxy Disconnected

Hello,

I've got a Zabbix setup with a few proxies and if I understand things right when a proxy can't reach the server it should continue collecting data from associated agents/hosts and when it reconnects relay all of that back to the server.

However when any of my proxies are disconnected gaps show up in all graphs for all host items for the duration of the disconnection (even when new data is rolling in).

I am using the SQLite3 back end on the proxies (MySQL on the main server), would this make a difference?

I tried manually setting:

ProxyOfflineBuffer=12

on the agents but it didn't seem to have any effect. Anyone have any ideas? Let me know if you want more info/etc. Thanks!

Hi,

I also have some kind of similar weird "gap" effect in my test scenario when shutting down the server. The proxy (using MySQL here as well as on server side) is going on collecting data (ProxyOfflineBuffer is set to 24) and when I start the server again I can watch the graphs filled up with data except a gap of about 10 minutes after the shutdown.
I can see the data I am missing on server side in the the table proxy_history on the proxy, they are just not getting synchronized.

Another interesting point is that this effect does not appear if I just block communication between server and proxy (iptables -> DROP). After deleting this rule the graph is completely filled up.

Any ideas about what could be going on would be appreciated. Let me know if I forgot about providing any relevant information.

Upgrade?

I want to say I ended up seeing the issue going away after upgrading my proxies to 2.0.5. I recall testing it at the time and it worked like it should after that.

However I haven't re-tested it recently. If you're not on the latest, maybe give that a try.

When I had finished my post I just realized that I ommited the most important information. I am running on Scientific Linux 6.3 and Zabbix 2.0.5 (Core, Proxies and Agents).
