    upgrade server or agents first?

    Hi,

I've inherited a Zabbix server that has two proxies as well as of course agents running on a bunch of hosts. We're currently running 2.0.2 and I'd like to update everything to 2.0.5. Is there any particular order? Meaning for example, server first, then proxies then agents or does it not matter?

    Thanks!

Ideally you would do the Zabbix server and proxies at the same time, then the agents.

    Agents are backwards compatible.

Never did get around to upgrading...

Never did get around to upgrading and of course now I would upgrade to 2.2. Same process? Server and proxies around the same time then the agents?

            Correct.

Although, on a major version upgrade, I personally wait until about the .3 or .4 version before I implement it in production. Just to make sure they got all the nasty bugs worked out.

Thanks. But I *could* upgrade the agents first or no?

Also, we've deployed by building from source and I recently added the JMX gateway to one of the proxies - I assume I can build everything together?
