Enterasys switch and SNMP hardware checks

    Hello,

I am working with an installation of Zabbix (2.0.5) under CentOS.

One of my tasks is to monitor some remote Enterasys switches, and to check variables such as temperature, fan state, and general hardware condition.

My first try was to do it with SNMP, and I've performed some "snmpwalks", loaded MIBs and got around with the protocol. I now have most of the checks I wanted done in Zabbix, but not the hardware checks.

I know that Enterasys units have MIBs for that kind of thing, more precisely under the ENTERASYS-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB-EXT-MIB file. I do the snmpwalk, and check the OIDs under "MIB Browser", but the checks never return information.

My models of switch are A2, B3 and C2, mainly.

I don't think there's any other way of doing it instead SNMP, but I would appreciate any help.

    Hi,

What problem? You cannot receive from zabbix necessary items by SNMP OID?

Sorry, maybe i don't understand your question?

Sorry, I didn't state clearly the problem.

When I perform a snmpwalk in the server, I get lots of OIDs, each with his associated MIB (for example, SNMP-v2-MIB :: ), but none indicate ENTERASYS-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB-EXT-MIB. I have the file loaded in the MIB directory, but maybe it's not working properly.

When I put the MIB file into MIB Browser, it doesn't return information. Maybe I need some other MIB to work with it. It says this:

      "No such name error (IP)"

When performing the SNMP check, Zabbix says:

"No such Object available on this agent at this OID"

        OID is .1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.85.1.1.1.1.1, "etsysEntityTempSensorState"

Are you sure that your switch supports this MIB?
Check the manufacturer's documentation on the subject of loading MIB files.
Also, duplicate this question on the forum/support service manufacturer of switches.
