Hey Awesome people!
I've been using Zabbix for about a year now and find it quite brilliant.
As I'm sure many of you know, the best way to monitor a couple of hosts at a remote site is by way of Active Checks via a template configured so.
Well, we have just that, a bunch of pre-existing templates (Windows, Linux, a couple of custom ones) which we have placed into "Active" mode and gleefully watch the data flood in etc.
The difficulty we have is when one of those servers is rebooted for maintenance etc.
Now normally, as far as I'm aware, a normal ZABBIX=>HOST check would dutifully silence itself during a given maintenance period (found in CONFIGURATION/MAINTENANCE menu) but, and do pleeeeeaaaase tell me if I'm wrong, if the Agent is reporting in ACTIVE mode, this maintenance window appears to be ignored and data is still obtained and email alerts still get pushed out based on triggers.
What say you?
Thanks in advance!
