    icmpping default target value

    Hello,

I'm learning to set up ICMP monitoring using ICMP ping template. Item key is simply "icmpping" without specifying any IP target.

Which IP address will be used if no IP parameter specified? I've searched the whole documentation and didn't find an answer.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

The template is linked to the host and used.
Since the IP address or host name is set in the host information, use that information to check it.

It seems for icmp ping template, if these's no target IP specified, icmpping will use interface IP (agent or snmp or jmx or ipmi) as target IP.

In above example, no matter what hostname or IP address filled in Host name, icmp latency will be 0.1ms.

As long as I fill the target IP in any interface IP address option, i will get the right icmp latency.
