How to install and configure the zabbix api

Hello all .
we are new in Zabbix and would like to use the Zabbix API to add/create a list of given hosts in the network.
our zabbix version is 4 and is installed on Centos 7
please advice what should be installed in the server to support this activity,
and how to configure and start the host creation.

Zabbix API GW is part of the web frotend.

what is zapish ? should I install something ?

My zapish is just short POSIX SH file (~3KB) with few functions which can be included into SH/bash script to make zabbix API calls easy from such type of scripts.
Try to have look on few examples from https://github.com/kloczek/zapish/tree/master/examples
All functions defined in zapish.inc are about primitives allowing construct API json string, parse output output, extract exact values from API call json result and one additional function which does API gw auth and stores generated API auth token in ~/.zapish.rc for all future API calls without entering API URL, username and password.

PS. As I just finished my last contract probably in next few weeks will try to spend a bit more time to implement few new features on which I've been thinking recently :P
