    Passive Monitoring through Proxy

    Hi All,

Do Passive checks work with Agents that are being monitored with Proxies?

I have a Server -> Proxy -> Agent. I want to do passive checks on the Agent, but , which is monitored by a proxy in a different subnet.

Active Checks work fine, but passive checks do not report any data back to Server through Proxy. Do I have to change proxy to Passive Mode for this to work? I though that mode is only if I want the Server to collect data from Proxy instead of the Proxy sending the data to the Server. Is that incorrect?

    Thank you in advance

    Hello!

Please check Server parameter in zabbix_agentd.conf file on the host which is not reporting data. There you have to set the IP or DNS of your Zabbix Proxy.

Don't forget to restart Zabbix agent process on the host if you made any changes to configuration file.

If that does not help, check the log files on all machines.

    Best Regards,
    Ingus

I have already done that. Server and ServerActive point to the Proxie's IP Address. Active checks work but Passive Checks don't. Can the Server do Passive Checks to an Agent through a proxy?

      Logs are clean

        Monitored by proxy?

Of course you defined your agent to be monitored by your Proxy in the server GUI?

          I gfot it working now

I totally overlooked the Server IP. I had an Agent monitoring my Poxy Server and set the Server IP as the loopback address, but on the server side I set it as the actual Proxy Server IP address. Because of this when the Proxy was trying to to connect to its IP Address (Ex: 10.10.10.10) the agent was rejecting the connection because it was only receiving request from Server IP which was set up as 127.0.0.1.

Anyway, thank you for your help.
