Zabbix proxies behind a load balancer???

What are the caveats and general requirements to have the proxies behind a load balancer? I've read that Zabbix doesn't like this a lot of the times, but I've also read that there are some implementations there in the community who have achieved this before.

Can we have all the agents pointing to a load balancer (or VIP) and then redistribute the load across a pool of proxies? Would this be process agnostic from the agent perspective?

    Thanks!

In case of using passive monitoring multiple proxies will be trying to reach the same agent.
In case of active monitoring at least one proxy will be not receiving any data and some processing of the monitoring data relies on receiving those data it may produce false alarms.
In both cases it may (partially) only work with passive proxy because server will be sending configuration data to only one proxy.
HA of the proxy is done usually by low latency active-standby clustering or with aoutoscale to only one instance.

In other words: LB in case of the proxies is wrong technique.
