Monitoring over Serial

Hello,

i have a project with zabbix and need to monitor a "apc smart ups 1500" but we dont have a Network Managment Card. The only thing i have is a serial interface. That is connected to my Zabbix server. Is it possible to monitor this usv?

Do you have a command that read the value you want from the port? If so you can use an UserParameter of a system.run key
Maybe you will need to install the zabbix Agent on the Zabbix Server Machine and add the Server as a host ...
