Which is more advantageous: zabbix agent or simple check?

The two ways below work, only the simple check is in the App HTTPS template; while the zabbix_agentd item came from the zabbix 1.8 migration. Is there any advantage of simple check for zabbix agent item?

Simple check: net.tcp.service[https]
Zabbix Agent: net.tcp.service[http,{HOST:IP},443]

Simple check pro; You know the service is available on the network, at least from the perspective of the zabbix server (or proxy).

On avarage scenario Simple Check will do the job, but there are some caveats depending on your scenario:
Simple check would be checked FROM the zabbix server, zabbix agent (i think) would check it from the host. So it's possible that the service isn't available from zabbix server but it's in the host (or for another network).
