    Failing re-install Zabbix agent

    Hi there,

    installed Zabbix agent (4.0) on Ubuntu 16.04, but noticed agent is off. Once I enable it, it stays as running for a minute or two and is off again.

    Decided uninstall (by this link http://ashoktutorials.blogspot.com/2...om-ubuntu.html) and install again, but now is failing installing back:

    what can be done so I could re-install it again?

    Look at the first line of messages that systemd has reported from the failed startup of zabbix-agentd. zabbix-agentd is telling you that your agent configuration file is missing required settings. Fix the config file so it's appropriate for your environment, and try again.

      I have added necessary value sin config file, same.
      So eventually tried one more time to completely remove and install. Now I am failing to install it:
      1. This went fine:
      Code:
      wget https://repo.zabbix.com/zabbix/4.0/ubuntu/pool/main/z/zabbix-release/zabbix-release_4.0-2+xenial_all.deb
      2. This part is failing now:
      Code:
      dpkg -i zabbix-release_4.0-2+xenial_all.deb
      Error:
      dpkg-deb: error: 'zabbix-release_4.0-2+xenial_all.deb' is not a debian format archive
      dpkg: error processing archive zabbix-release_4.0-2+xenial_all.deb (--install):
      subprocess dpkg-deb --control returned error exit status 2
      Errors were encountered while processing:
      zabbix-release_4.0-2+xenial_all.deb

      please help

        If you get an error saying that the file is not a debian format, the file may be corrupt. Please download and install again. There is a newer version of the package, so you may want to use it.

        Code:
        $ wget https://repo.zabbix.com/zabbix/4.0/ubuntu/pool/main/z/zabbix-release/zabbix-release_4.0-3+xenial_all.deb
        $ sudo dpkg -i zabbix-release_4.0-3+xenial_all.deb
        $ sudo apt update
        $ sudo apt install zabbix-agent
        $ sudo vi /etc/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.conf
        $ sudo systemctl start zabbix-agent
