Remote command to restart zabbix server

    Hi guys!

i have an IBMi that every week goes through an IPL, which means a restart, this crashes the snmp connection and the only way it goes up again is with a restart to the zabbix server (restarting the service either in the zabbix side or in the ibmi side isn't enough).

Has anyone had this type of problem? or similar?

    Thanks a lot!

What version of SNMP do you use for monitoring? If v3-try switching to v2 and see if you need to restart the zabbix server?

Thank you for your suggestion, we are using v3, in this case v2 is not supported and v1 ends up being pointless

It is possible that some hardware manufacturers do not fully comply with the SNMP standards, which leads to problems on the zabbix server side. Zabbix version 5 has a new runtime command:

        Manual SNMP cache clearing
Zabbix server and Zabbix proxy now support an -R snmp_cache_reload runtime control option, which reloads the SNMP cache and clears the SNMP properties (engine time, engine boots, engine id, credentials) for all hosts. Net-SNMP version 5.3.0 or higher is required.
