    response time

    hey
i want to make a trigger for response time of a web site
i want the trigger to be if the web is not responding for 2 minutes then make alert.
what is the better option to use the max() or min() or nodata() ?

ask your self what is the thing that botters you - you might use count as well or any other combination

nodata will not apply or its not the best approach ( nodata = no response ) - your goal is usually achieved via failed steps in web scenario - or simply fault monitoring ( on/not ok ) - performance data is another thing

well i need to know if the web page is on either way.
the problem with failed steps is that the step is already failed- the webpage is pretty basic and i made a step to check if the response code is 200 but i get 307
so i need to check the response time instead cuz if the web page goes down the response time supposed to be higher if any.
so what the best trigger for this and how do i configure it ?

Im not sure if I follow - the failed scenario will clearly indicate up/down page ( code 200 ) - response time whatever high is not saying nothing about up/down just the performance of sort - btw. not sure how the timeout comes i play ( definitelly it makes a failed step ) but dont know how it handles the response time you need to test it

when it comes to to max, min theyre both the same - its the logic you'll aply , the cheapes when it comes to performance on zabbix side is last function, count will work as well - just remeber that if you combine them with time paramater zabbix has to store all the values in memory to do the min, max, count operation and this is the reason why last is the "cheap one"

how to configure triggers see docu - check EXAMPLES
