    Zabbix : SNMP "Timeout while connecting..."

    Hello everyone,

    I have a problem with SNMP on zabbix.
    I have configured some switch with the same SNMP community and same configuration to be monitored by Zabbix. After that I created a template for those switchs but I still have an error "Timeout while connecting..." with the red icon. The configuration is exactly the same on the Switchs, and some of them have the SNMP green icon. I realy don't understand where is the source of this problem. Why I don't have full green icon? Why some of them have the green of the other red icon?
    Someone have an idea?

      Try snmpwalk (or other snmp command line tools) from your zabbix server/proxy to the switches.

      It could be lots of things..... If snmpwalk fails, it's not Zabbix :-)

          I think I find the solution. There is a parameter in the zabbix_server.conf that indicate the time before the interface show an error message "timeout while connecting..." If this time is under the frequency of SNMP check on this switch, then zabbix consider that this switch is timeout.
          It's a supposition but, now all of my switchs are green and stay green!
