VMware > automatically discovered virtual machine > group management

    Hello everybody,
Could you tell me please, if it is possible to add a VM to a group when it is automatically discovered by the "VMware" template applied to a Vcenter.
From what I see, after having edited the parameters of a VM, it is impossible to modify the groups because they are grayed out.
    Thanks in advance!

Yes it is, you need to adjust discovery rules on template level - group prototypes - eg. its already adding VM to several groups ( v 5.2 - the same applied for older versions )

Thank you for your reply. So if I understand correctly with your screenshot I will be able to assign another group to the virtual machines that will be discovered, but the problem is that it will be the same for all. I misunderstand?
I would have liked to adapt the group manually as I would in normal times, when we create a host and associate it with a group.

yes , same for all - but depends on the clustername, datacenter name, hypervisor name - so you get several groups for hypervisors, the same goes with datacenter, clustername - there is some order

i think you can't manually change it
