Zabbix on demand item

Hey all,

Is it possible to create an `on demand` item?

By `on demand` I mean that the item will NOT run at any of the interval (fixable, schedule etc..).
It will only run when triggering it by the `execute now` button.

Unfortunately, no. An item can have update interval set to 0 only if there are flexible/scheduling intervals set. Is it an option to have a trapper item for your case?

The trapper is not helpful because I need the server to trigger the check event and not the host.

During last online summit someone had a presentation about similar case, when normal monitoring was performed with longer intervals and if something was triggered, then scripts kicked in, shortened the check times and maybe also enabled some checks (don't remember exactly)...

You could try flexible interval with

1-7,00:00-24:00

This should be saying, skip all 7 days of week.
