    enable multi cpu discovery on zabbix 6.0

    I am very new to zabbix and was trying to setup multi-cpu discovery on a remote agent.

    the agent is running on a Redhat8 VM with 8 cores, but when I look at the graph, I only see one.

    I went to Configuration-> Discovery and added a rule for multi-cpu wtih Zabbix agent "system.cpu.discovery" with an interval of 2 mins, I set the IP range to be just my test host. I dont see any additional graphs or additional CPUs on the existing graphs. do I have to rediscover the node? Or is there something wrong with the steps above for adding the discovery rule?

    Thanks!

    Nonononono ... no!

    You should add specific template with per-CPU discovery and items to have this kind of thing. Adding something into host discovery (which only discovers hosts and adds them to your Zabbix) does not do anything here.

      Thanks cyber.

      I had seen that page, but it wasn't clear where exactly to add that configuration. Reading https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...evel_discovery is this correct?

      I just tried adding it with

      Configuration ->hosts Create Discovery Rule.

      I added the rule, but it doesn't have any graphs/triggers etc.

      is this all included in a pre canned template already?

        Discovery as such only prepares data. You need item prototypes and trigger prototypes there also, which use that discovery data and create those items/triggers for the host, where discovery is running. That low level discovery page is correct place to read.
        I don't remember any default templates with per-cpu things...
        I took some pics from one of our templates... First is discovery rule... second is item prototype... I guess you can figure out trigger prototype by yourself..
        Type can also bye "Zabbix item (active)" for these.
