Can Zabbix Agent and Zabbix Agent 2 work together?

Hello all,

we use Zabbix 5.0.15 and Zabbix Agent and we are satisfied, all is working as supposed. However, we need to implement a few modbus devices that require the Modbus plugin which means that we have to use Zabbix Agent 2 to be able to add them to Zabbix.

My question is... Can we use Zabbix Agent and Zabbix Agent 2 concurrently so we don't have to move all devices from Zabbix Agent to Zabbix Agent 2 and just let modbus devices use Zabbix Agent 2?

Yes, you can put agent2 on selected nodes and continue using classic agent on others.

Then how can I install Zabbix Agent 2 on the Zabbix server?

Same way as you installed classic agent, just specifying different agent version... (zabbix-agent2).
