    Trigger and Events

    Hi guys,

    I have configure the alerts and tested and i got some confused on the results.

    For testing purpose, I configure the alert to monitor admin status of a switch port. When i disable the port, the trigger works and the status shows "Problem" which is the result i wish. However, after 1 minutes, the status change to"OK" but the port is still down.

    Can anyone advise where to change this so when the port down, it will always shows "Problem" and not change to "OK".

    Thank you very much.

    Hi!
    If you try to monitor oper state of port, may this rule can help you to figure out:

    {Routers_Auto_Discovery:OperState[{#SNMPINDEX}].last()}<>1 and {Routers_Auto_Discovery:AdminState[{#SNMPINDEX}].last()}=1

    Also, view documentation of your device, may be there are not just simple 1 and 0 state of port.

      Hi,

      I tried your expression and modified to monitor the admin status of the port for testing purpose and yes, it works. It will always shown in the "Last 20 issue" on the Dashboard when the port is down and gone when the port is up.

      {SW1:ifAdminStatus[FastEthernet0/40].last(1)}=2

      Thanks.
