Notifications - I am doing it wrong - please help

I thought the following would send me an email only during work hours and then send one notification at 5 minutes and then recurring notifications every 30 minutes thereafter. What I go was 1800 emails throughout the night and a notification every five minutes.

I apparently am doing it wrong, please help

No.. you cannot control action execution with "when active" in user config.. This config does not tell Zabbix that "you can send me email only at 11:30 to 19:00 on Sundays in 30 minute interval"..

Your action is still executed based on step duration. Read about escalation https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...on/escalations

What you are doing here is at first delaying sending a notification for 5 minutes (example 2 on escalations page) ... Then waiting for 25 minutes (steps 3-6 are missing, thus (7 minus 2 is) 5 times 5 minutes gap) and then send out mails with 5 minute interval indefinitely (until step 0), until issue is fixed...
