Unable to make Service Actions to work

Dear all,

This is a 6.00 Zabbix Server setup where I am not able to make Service Actions to work (I have no problem with Trigger actions).

I configured a test Service and 3 child services.


** Main service
Name: Servicio de frontal SSH
Tags:
Name: Service
Value: Frontal SSH
Child services:
Service Problem tags:
"Frontal 1" service_ssh: frontal-1
"Frontal 2" service_ssh: frontal-2
"Frontal 3" service_ssh: frontal-3


I disable the hosts that have the trigger that affects the service and I can see the child and father services change their status (the children turn from OK to HIGH and the father service turns to WARNING, HIGH or DISASTER).

After I created a service action. I tried with different conditions but I havent been successful with any of them.
For example:

Service action:
Name: Envio de aviso
Conditions:
- Service Equals Frontal 1
- Service Equals Frontal 2
- Service Equals Frontal 3
- Service Equal: Servicio de frontal SSH

Operations:
- Send message to Zabbix Administrators via Telegram Inmmediately
Recovery Operations
- Send message to Zabbix Administrators via Telegram Inmmediately
Update operations
- Send message to Zabbix Administrators via Telegram Inmmediately


Sending the messages work perfectly for triggers => That shows that media type is configured, and also that the Adminisitrator user has the media assigned.

I tried to log, in order to guess what happens, but I am unable to understand where is the problem:

Can anyone tell me if they were able to make this work? I could not find any hint.

Hello Natalia,

I had similar problems, but in my case at least I could see in the action logs that the mail sending was failed due to no message was defined for media type.
It was strange as I saw the message templates, but those are for "Problem" message type and here we need "Service" message type (3 for problem and also there are 3 for service).
So after I added the service ones to the Message templates, it started to send out emails. I hope it helps for you or someone else who also landed on this page searching for solution for similar problem
