Issues with configuration of SNMP on Cisco Router

    Hello,

I am using a cisco 2911 router which I need to monitor using zabbix. I created host and applied templates but yet I am unable to bring up SNMP. It says 'timout while connecting to XX.XX.XX.XX'

    Thank You

Did you configure SNMP on routers?
You can test the SNMP work with "snmpwalk" or "snmpget" commands, running on zabbix site.

      Hi,

first of all, you need to setup snmp server on the router and in addition access-list (because you don't want to access SNMP on external interface of the router).
second, you need to add Cisco router as a host into the Zabbix and define template.

        access-list 10 permit 10.0.0.0 0.255.255.255
        snmp-server community (STRING) RO 10

Looks like both setup and template are already configured.
(Template SNMP Cisco Router and ZBX-Cisco_Interfaces are already configured)

        What am I missing ?

        Thank You

if you would like to allow access to router's SNMP from all 10.0.0.0/24 network, then you need to use this command:

          access-list 10 permit 10.0.0.0/24 (or 10.0.0.0 0.0.0.255)

Please check Cisco wildcard documentation or use wildcard calculator here: http : // www. subnet-calculator.com/wildcard.php
