Upgrading Zabbix 2.4.x to 3.0 using zabbix yum repos?

I am currently running Zabbix 2.4.7 on CentOS 6.7 (64-bit), updated regularly using the Zabbix yum repos.

Can I use these same repos to do an in-place upgrade from 2.x to 3.x, by adding the 3.x yum repos to my server?

I also understand that PHP must be upgraded to at least version 5.4 as well, in order to work with the latest release of Zabbix. Is there a recommended yum repo for php that should be used to be sure I have the latest, stable version of php installed?

Can Zabbix 2.4.x be uprgaded to 3.x using yum repo?

We are current running Zabbix 2.4.8, on CentOS 6.7, but would like to migrate to 3.x. Can this be done in-place via the Zabbix yum repo method, or do I actually need to download and manually install 3.0 and then migrate over to it?
