    Zabbix ICMP Ping still works?

    Hello everyone,

I have installed Zabbix latest server (version 6.2) and testing it to see if I can monitor some hosts via ICMP simple check with Ping, I have setup the host properly, enabled the permissions for fping, verified everything and I can see that the hosts was only pinged 3 times by Zabbix... as seeing on the image attached, the server has been running for at least 1 day and the data has not updated, nor increased, any suggestions how to make it update? Ping the hosts? Thank you

How do you get "only 3 times" from that pic? "Latest data 3" means there is data for 3 items... You should maybe click on that link and check the real data... ?

ICMP simple checks are still part of basic functionality in current version. Please try to follow this step by step tutorial(https://techexpert.tips/zabbix/zabbix-icmp-ping-monitor), check your setup and let us know if helps you.

        Hello,

I have version 6.4, I just started with Zabbix and I like it a lot, but I followed the steps in the link indicated by Michal Czerniakiewicz, followed the steps one by one and it doesn't work for me, is it different in 6.4?

        Thank you all,

          Hi,
I also just started with Zabbix yesterday, version 6.4.0, and the first thing I tried was to setup and ICMP ping. It turns out that there is a known bug in 6.4 that makes the ICMP ping difficult to setup - see bug report https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-22105.
In order to get it working I had to go to Data collection - Hosts - click on items link in host list - then in items list, click on 3 dots and select Configuration-Item, then set the host interface. I had to do this for all three (ICMP loss, ICMP ping, and ICMP response time).
          Hope this helps.
