    Ping on multiple interfaces

    Hi everyone!

    I have an host with two network interfaces (Agent and SNMP)
    This is the result of the Zabbix Internal discovery

    I would like to create two ping items.

    First item must ping the AGENT interface
    while the second has to ping the SNMP interface

    It’s possible ?
    How should the Key be changed?
    How can I reference the desired interface?

    Many thanks

    Have a good day

      Care to read docs? https://www.zabbix.com/documentation.../simple_checks

      icmpping[<target>,<packets>,<interval>,<size>,<timeout>]

      Item prototype with a key like "icmpping[{#IF.IP}] "

      I did already tell you this in https://www.zabbix.com/forum/zabbix-...348#post460348

        Cyber, thanks for your help.
        I managed to do what you suggested.
        For this I thank you!

        I try to explain to you what I can't do, if you have the patience to read me.

        I configured discovery --> zabbix[host,discovery,interfaces]
        I configured the item for ping --> icmpping[{#IF .IP}]

        Everything works fine.

        Now my doubts begin....
        I would like to get a graph with this layout

        HOST1 StatusPingInterfaceAGENT StatusPingInterfaceSNMP
        HOST2 StatusPingInterfaceAGENT StatusPingInterfaceSNMP
        HOST3 StatusPingInterfaceAGENT StatusPingInterfaceSNMP

        To get it I think it is necessary to have 2 items that do the ping;
        The first item must ping on the AGENT interface
        The other item must ping on the SNMP interface

        What I can't understand (forgive me) is if there is a way, a filter, a regexp to refers to a specific interface (among those discovered) in the creation of the prototype items.

        Thank you for the time you have dedicated to me.
        I swear the documentation has been read and re-read.
        Have a good day

          No IP1 ort IP2 there.. only one prototype item! Discovery will loop through the initial data and create multiple items based on that prototype...
          you can use "Ping on {#IF.TYPE}" as name and "icmpping[{#IF.IP}" as key. Whatever amount of interfaces you may have there, discovery will make one item per interface...

            Hi Cyber, I hope you are well !
            Thank you for your answer.

            What you wrote to me is clear.
            I already implemented this configuration and it worked perfectly, thanks!

            Unfortunately I am more and more convinced that the graph I would like to obtain is not possible.
            I'll make a few more attempts (without bothering you ) . Eventually I will give up the graph.

            Thank you for your support, much appreciated, which has helped me a lot.

            Have a nice day
            Andrea
