Hi,
I would like to reduce the many connections of the agents(6.4 active) to the server.
The default template "Linux by Zabbix agent active" is used for comparison:
On a system with 91 items I get in a 12h time window about 14000 connections.
A reduction of the intervals in the template (1m to 5m) brought a reduction to about 10000 connections.
With activating the buffering on the agent side (BufferSend=300 BufferSize=1000) I could even reduce the connections to about 8000 connections and this even with a 1 minute interval.
Although the buffering is set to 5 minutes, the agent still sends every 5 seconds. It should not be a heartbeat, which I had also set to several minutes in a test, without this having any effect.
Are there any other settings to get the agent to collect the items and send them as a bundle to the server?
I would be very grateful if someone has a tip on how to further reduce the number of connections without losing data.
Cheers
Eike
