Adding ESX to monitoring - no vCenter.

    Hi All,

I am trying to monitor ESX with our Zabbix 2.4. I am using guides from:

Problem is I do not have vCenter server - have no hypervisor, what I have are just 3 separate ESX hosts.

Is it possible to monitor these hosts with zabbix omitting hypervisor? to have LLD and all that stuff.

    Thanks all for help,
    Pawel

    Dear,

    Esx hosts (server) = hypervisors
    Virtual machines = guests

So use that guide and point zabbix to your ESX servers (hypervisors).

    Have a nice day,
    Sergio

      Same issue here.
Could somebody provide a step by step guide how to configure monitoring of standalone ESX (if no vCenter is present)?

        hi guys

You must first obtain vcenter uuid, and then defined in maco {$url}. {$passwd} {$USERNAME} and other information

If VCenter is not exist, please try to register the ESXi as a host,
and then link the template 'Template Virt VMware'.

And to start the daemon, please do the setting of the host macros.
