Option 1 and 2 Gives info in the license as columns so makes no sense
    it reads the file
solidangle license usage status on server (port 35339)

    arnold v20160712: server@render20 1/0 at 07/06 15:08 (handle: 971)
    arnold v20160712: server@render20 1/0 at 07/06 16:00 (handle: 390)
    arnold v20160712: server@render20 1/0 at 07/06 15:43 (handle: 802)
    arnold v20160712: server@render19 1/0 at 07/06 16:04 (handle: 327)
    arnold v20160712: server@render19 1/0 at 07/06 16:10 (handle: 88f)

and give different values even if i change print $? but not relevant info
    1
    0
    2
    7
    f

    1.
    rlmutil rlmstat -a -c 5055@server | grep v20160712 | awk -F'[^0-9]*' '{print $4}'
    2.
    rlmutil rlmstat -a -c 5055@server | grep v20170218 | awk -F'[^0-9]*' '{print $4}'

3 and 4 Gave some useful output as shown below:

    3) rlmutil rlmstat -c 5055@server -avail | grep v20160712 | awk -F'[^0-9]*' '{print $0}'
    arnold v20160712 available: 1

    4) rlmutil rlmstat -c 5055@server -avail | grep v20170218 | awk -F'[^0-9]*' '{print $0}'
    arnold v20170218 available: 11

      Hi! Good!
As I write before, we need to get just exact number of license, so please try:

      rlmutil rlmstat -c 5055@server -avail | grep v20160712 | awk -F'[^0-9]*' '{print $3}'
      or
      rlmutil rlmstat -c 5055@server -avail | grep v20160712 | awk '{print $4}'

If it works, please add 2x User parameters in to conf file. Like:
      UserParameter=arnold.status.v20160712,rlmutil rlmstat -c 5055@server -avail | grep v20160712 | awk '{print $4}'

      UserParameter=arnold.status.v20170218,rlmutil rlmstat -c 5055@server -avail | grep v20170218 | awk '{print $4}'

Then create 2x Items with keys "arnold.status.v20160712" and "arnold.status.v20170218". So you will get graphs and will be able to make Stacked graphs using 2 metrics.

      Br, Alexander

P.S. if can get a script without awk command, can make one UserParameter with variable like:
      UserParameter=arnold.status[*],rlmutil rlmstat -c 5055@server -avail | grep $1 | ...
Then can make Items including lic number (arnold.status[v20160712] and arnold.status[v20170218]) in parameter and result should be the same.

thanks this is working now, however would be good if I could see the total usage rather than total licenses available and the total licenses would be good to see just a line on the graph that way we know the limit.

          rlmutil rlmstat -a -c 5055@server | sed -n '/arnold/,$p'|grep count | awk -F'[^0-9]*' '{print $4} ; {sum+=$4} END {print sum}'
          is now showing
          example
          13
          8
          21

          21 is total licenses used

          13 from 1 license
          8 from the other
now i just need it to show me only 21 not 13 and 8

            Finally got total usage with
            rlmutil rlmstat -a -c 5055@server | sed -n '/arnold/,$p'|grep count | awk -F'[^0-9]*' '{sum+=$4}; END {print sum}'

answer gives 1 value at the time used licenses are 21

is there a better way to write the above or is that good enough?

              Its all working now,

I have displayed it as a line graph showing
              1) total licenses used
              2) number license left from license 1
              3) number license left from license 2

Is line graph better or do you recommend other means of displaying?

                Hi! Great!
It is enough to have license usage (or license left) as 2 separate Items.
Based on that info, can make additional calculated Items (key Type - Calculated) and have sum of used or license left and so on.
Then can make Triggers for one or more Items.
For each Item simple graphs will be available automatically and each Trigger will be displayed as line.
Additionally in Monitoring - Graphs module can make more complex, stacked graphs if needed.
                Regards,
                Alexander
