Monitor Cisco PIX or 2600 Router

New to Zabbix and Cisco - am I looking to see if there is a way to monitor the traffic flowing through a Cisco PIX or 2600 Router.

If your Cisco is SNMP capable, it must be OK for Zabbix to monitor.

Did you try "snmpwalk" to get some OIDs (maybe not all) that are "published" by the device ?

I have ran snmpwalk but as for working out wot OID's relate to what nope. Any OID info would be great. We have 3 NIC's and I would like to monitor the Public Side and the Internal LAN side.

.1.3.6.1.2.1.2 is the iftable branch of the snmp tree. You should be able to determine pretty much anything you're wanting about an interface from that.

Thanks for that. Now I think I need .3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.1, how to do I setup the zabbix Host & Item to monitor ?

I you can "snmpget" that OID, then you can put it in Zabbix.

First create a new host representing your router and then add on item for each OID you want to monitor, provinding community, SNMP version, OID, polling frequency... and a key (sort of unique ID you'll use when writing triggers). An SNMP item is quite close to a Zabbix Agent item.

K, think I have set up the host and 1 item, but now I get "Availability" Not avilable.
                  The host is :
Use IP (ip add) ; Port 10050 ; Status Monitored

                  Item is :
                  Type: SNMPv2
SNMP Com: (as per snmpwalk info)
                  SNMP OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.1
                  SNMP port: 1994
                  Type: Numeric
                  Status: Monitored
