ICMP Ping and DNS resolution

When only 'Template ICMP Ping' is added to the host and domain name of such host does not exist the icmpping trigger will not throw an error. Is there any way fix this?

Message in host configuration section: 'Cannot send ICMP ping packets to this host.'

what do you need the trigger for, if not for notification?

I'm not in 10k hosts environment and prefer visual notifications, also I want to make it "clean". Composing a script now.
