    Timeout while connecting to "ip".

    Hi,

    I have a zabbix server which is running on Linux CentOS Stream 8, and zabbix server 6.0.22. I've added around 100 hosts to the database.
    Now i've configured every single host to send SNMP traffic to the zabbix server and lots of hosts have been able to connect.

    But i've ran into a problem where lots of hosts are not turning red to green, which leaves me very confused.
    Every single host is configured the same (apart from ip ofcourse.) and is the ZBX server able to reach the hosts. In the zabbix config file, i've changed the Timeout to 30 Seconds, as lots of other people did the same and fixed it for them.

    But for me sadly it's not doing the same. When restarting the zabbix-server.service and checking the status of it, i get a ton of weird messages in the logs:

    How do i get the hosts to turn green and what should i change in the zabbix_server.conf?

    Thanks.

    Having 10 pollers for 100 hosts should be quite ok.
    What are the "weird messages" in the log? That pic is just a process list and should not be in logfile at all...
    Saying "and is the ZBX server able to reach the hosts", you mean that you tested with snmpwalk and it works?

    You can try to switch off "bulk requests" in hosts snmp interface config... it will increase the load on pollers, but may give some more results... as every item is polled on its own and not in bulk...

      Hi,
      Thanks for your reply. ( I'm still a bit new at Linux and Zabbix.)
      Sorry i ment zabbix-server.service status - not logs.
      With zabbix being able to reach the hosts i ment as ping requests are being accepted and can i see them coming onto the fortinet Firewalls. Right here we have 2 firewalls with the exact same config, but is one of them is red.

      My zabbix conf file looks like this:
      StartPollers=20
      StartIPMIPollers=10
      StartPollersUnreachable=20
      StartPingers=10
      HousekeepingFrequency=4
      MaxHousekeeperDelete=2000
      Timeout=30

      for SNMP walk, will i have to install a seperate program?

      Thanks for in advance.

        Yes, snmpwalk, snmpget etc are separate tools, which would help you to diagnose problems from command line. Ping is not enough...

          Hi,

          So i've installed snmpwalk and tried the command on the only host where it works and it's giving a reply back. I've checked my networking and all the hosts are configured the exact same, it should make no difference.

          But after doing SNMP to another host with a slight different IP, while having the same policies etc, it fails. Would you by any chance know how to troubleshoot this?
