Hi All,

I have installed Zabbix Server 6.4.13 and also deployed Agent on windows Server MSSQL 2019 for monitoring.

but I am getting the error below error on all metrics.

"Unknown metric mssql.perfcounter.get"

Kindly please help me if someone done such configuration for monitoring the MSSQL Server 2019 with latest template. i have gone this link https://git.zabbix.com/projects/AP/repos/mssql/browse.

We have find the Zabbix Agent 2 Plugins for MSSQL Database Server. Find the below link.

This is Repository where you can find the plugins as per your require version.









Kindly check this and do the configuration this way, we can able to pull all the Data from SQL Server with Zabbix Agent 2 with Plugins which we installed.

There are two different versions of the zabbix agent - the metrics that you are trying to collect are from the agent2, but not from the agentd.

I also have this same issue. I am using Zabbix Server 6.4.13 with the Zabbix Agent 2 on my MSSQL server. Furthermore, I think it's because I am missing the plugin executable described in the documentation here https://git.zabbix.com/projects/AP/repos/mssql/browse however I cannot find where to download this plugin executable for the Windows agents for MSSQL monitoring. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

I have checked it, when we do the installation then the plugins show it. find the below screenshot but that is for Linux machine.

We have windows Server, we need to require plugins for windows machine with Zabbix Agent 2 as per my thinking. as MSSQL also available for Linux as well.

i have try to copy that MSSQL.conf file in windows and also modify the zabbix Agent 2 file as well but after that the agent service not able to start it.

require guidance from Zabbix team whether is it supported to windows server or not of MSSQL?

Hi,
I have same issue.
Agent version 6.4.13, same as server version.
I have added mssql.conf to plugins on my windows agent folder but still have same error: Unknown metric mssql.perfcounter.get
mssqlconf have 3 lines unhashed in config:

[B]Plugins.MSSQL.Default.Uri=sqlserver://...
Plugins.MSSQL.Default.User=zbx_monitor
Plugins.MSSQL.Default.Password=...[/B]

Agent is running but still no MSSQL data.

I had the same problem. I am not sure of the mechanism involved, but the end result is that plugin isn't present or at least functional in the Windows MSI. The template works great on Linux, but as most MSSQL is on Windows it's not that helpful. But I appreciate the efforts of the Zabbix Team and assume it will be working soon.

Downloading Agent 2 and the plugin msi-file from you repo URL solved the problem for me. We were unable to get the already installed Zabbix Agent 2 version 6.4.13 package to work with the plugin, but reinstalling the Zabbix Agent 2 made it work out of the box.

Zabbix proxy log showed some info, but it did not lead us on the right path. I tried all sorts of macro variations without success, still same event logged:

Zabbix agent item "mssql.local.db.get["{$MSSQL.URI}","{$MSSQL.USER}","{$MSSQL.PASSWORD}"]" on host MYSERVER failed: another network error, wait for 15 seconds

When the plugin was accepted by the Agent, the data became almost instantly accessible and the proxy log showed this line:

enabling Zabbix agent checks on host "MYSERVER": interface became available

Seems like since appearance of the plugin (with version 6.4.12), docs have not been updated correctly about obtaining the plugin etc..
Or... you can probably guess they way it works from Plugins page https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...nsions/plugins but its not that easy to put everything together easily...

Hi, my Zabbix is giving the following error:

Failed to execute handler: failed to execute handler: failed to get conn: failed to create conn: failed to ping: TLS Handshake failed: tls: server selected unsupported protocol version 301.

Someone can help me?
