Monitor Web URL in percentage.

Hello All,

i am using Zabbix 6.4.6.
In this, we have configured some url for monitoring purpose.
We have one URL: https://www.google.com this we have achieved using Web scenarios.

we are checking the status of this url every 1 minute.

if URL is unreachable, then we get 1 number. it trigger the alert.
if it is 0 then it is working fine.

But after this, we want to calculate the total uptime of the URL.
how we can do it.

can you help me in the calculation part.
we required this calculation part for 1 hour, 1 day, and for 1 Month.

I have created only Web scenarios.


like the attached image. We can see only one Web scenario is there.

I also ok with item.
Can you guide me on how to create URL monitoring using items?
At the end, i want to monitor how long the web URL is working.

You need another calculated item pointing at item that shows 1 or 0 and calculate procentage in specific time range https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...pes/calculated

Also bear in mind that it will calculate items procentage based on 1m intervals
for example in 1h if site is down for 30m it will be 50% however in 1d it will be around 2%
If you increase intervials for item then procentage will be higher (Less accurate)

best practice for calculations in long time frames :
If you planning on running it for much longer - you need more calculated items for different times ranges in "cascade" fashion so you dont overkill zabbix calculations. (Imagine calculating hundreds 1m intervials for 3 months- will lead to perfomance issues in zabbix)

For example you have calculated items for last 24 h that shows one value in percentage
then you will need another that takes last 30 days(based on 24h item) values and calculate one for a month

Adjust this logic and observe zabbix. It might work with 30 days for 1m intervals but in long run it is better to segregate calculations

It looks to me that you should look at services and SLAs as they can show you availability reports.
