Full SNMP Messages in dashboard (or in general)

    Hello,

I am exploring different monitoring solutions to understand practically how they work, their quirks, and their pros & cons. I need help to figure a few things out.

The first thing I noticed is the missing SNMP message. I added the same host via iLO SNMP monitoring to both Zabbix and another tool. In the other tool, I can see the reason for the warning, but in Zabbix, I have not yet been able to understand how to display the complete message in the dashboard or even where to find it in the host.

In Zabbix I see a generic Disk array controller warning and the state as degraded. In the other tool I can see that the issue is Status: not authenticated. Is it possible somehow to get the same message in Zabbix?
Could anyone please point me towards the settings or setup needed to show that message?

    Thanks!

    Best,
    Toni

If your "other monitoring tool" is open enough, you can see what is the OID it is using to get the status message, and use the same in your Zabbix template.

Or, you can see the vendor MIB to get the info.

Or, if using unencrypted SNMP, you can just capture the other monitoring tool traffic and get the OID information from there.
