Could it be the OS administrator account that doesn't work? Or is it the WebUI administrator account?
I tried installing 7.0appliance in my virtualbox, but as per the official document
    Administrator account is now available.

    System:
    root:zabbix

    Zabbix frontend:
    Admin:zabbix

This is my experience of failure, but I once wasted several hours not realizing that "Admin" is not "admin".

        Hello jronpaul

I created a virtual environment on my home PC and tried installing the Zabbix appliance again. The login ID is root and the password is zabbix, which seems to be the same.

Also, if the installation of Zabbix Appliance has been completed, I think the WebUI will be enabled without you having to do anything.

At the moment, I cannot guess where the cause of the inconvenience lies.

If you disclose the environment you are using in more detail, you may be able to gain the following of experts.

Also, English is not my native language, so I rely on Google Translate. I apologize if some parts are difficult to understand.

and it finishes.. and puts me at the console.. and i put in root
and then it prompts for the passwd .. i put in zabbix.. and it says incorrect.

          i used zabbix_appliance-7.0.0-netinstall.iso

The screen you presented is the same as the one I saw when attempting to install it in my environment. Hmm...

My trial procedure is as follows
・Create a new virtual machine in VirtualBox and specify [zabbix_appliance-7.0.0-netinstall.iso] as the ISO image
                - Check "Skip automatic installation"
・Specify memory and number of processors
                - Specify virtual disk capacity (all sizes pre-allocated)
・When you start the created virtualmachine, the installation starts, and when it is finished, the virtual machine automatically ends.
・Remove the ISO image from the virtual drive of the virtual machine and start it.

As a different approach, you could try using Open virtualization format (.ovf).
You can create a virtual machine simply by extracting the downloaded zabbix_appliance-7.0.0-ovf .tar.gz and selecting zabbix_appliance-7.0.0.ovf from the VirtualBox menu under [File - Import Virtual Appliance]. If your purpose is to try out Zabbix, this may be easier.

It seems that the appliance performs final configuration on the first boot after installation. The error message you saw also appeared on my side. If you leave it for a few minutes, the WebUI login screen will appear.
If you are using it for actual production, you may want to keep in mind that the OVF has a maximum storage capacity of 10GB.

I hope you enjoy your Zabbix life.

i actually ended up running ./zbx_init.sh --force

which ran through reinstalling the DB.. that fixed it however like you were saying, if i waited, it prob would have been fine.

                      thanks again
